Appreciate Life

The family and I had to take an unexpected trip to New Mexico on Labor Day due to my husband's grandmother's passing.  My husband had been able to say his goodbyes in January when they thought that was it but by some miracle she pulled through and lived another 6 months.  I think that that trip helped make this unfortunate news a little easier to bare.  I didn't have to console him, and as selfish as it sounds I'm glad he was OK because I'm not sure how well I would've done at consoling his pain. Let me explain; I have always had a fear of death.  It's strange but I feel as though his grandmother's death help me come to terms with the circle of life.  My maternal grandfather died when I was 3 years old and I have no memory of him.  My paternal grandparents died when I was in middle school and I remember being sad, but I hardly cried.  I didn't get to go to their funerals either.  We held a memorial mass about 6 months later with the family membe...
